Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Delhi to Nainital
Morning pickup from Delhi airport or railway station. Scenic drive through the Kumaon foothills to Nainital — the Lake District of India at 1,938m elevation (320 km / 8 hrs). Arrive by afternoon, check into hotel. Evening: boat ride on the serene Naini Lake surrounded by hills. Visit the sacred Naina Devi Temple on the lake shore. Stroll along the famous Mall Road for shopping and local street food.
Day 2: Nainital to Jim Corbett
Breakfast and checkout. Drive to Jim Corbett National Park — Asia's first national park, established in 1936 (120 km / 4 hrs). Check into wildlife resort. Afternoon: Jeep safari into the core zone of Corbett — spot Royal Bengal Tigers, Asiatic elephants, deer, and 600+ bird species. Later visit the historic Garjiya Devi Temple on a rocky island in the Kosi River and the Corbett Museum.
Day 3: Jim Corbett to Ranikhet
Breakfast and checkout. Drive to Ranikhet — a peaceful cantonment town with breathtaking views (150 km / 5 hrs). Check into hotel. Afternoon sightseeing: Chaubatia Gardens (famous for apple, plum, and apricot orchards), Jhula Devi Temple (known for thousands of bells), Haidakhan Babaji Temple. Visit the Kumaon Regiment Museum, enjoy views of the snow-capped Himalayas, and explore the town's quiet roads.
Day 4: Ranikhet to Kausani
Breakfast and checkout. Drive to Kausani — the Switzerland of India (75 km / 2.5 hrs). Check into hotel. Wake early next morning for a spectacular 300 km panoramic Himalayan sunrise over Trishul and Nanda Devi peaks. Visit Anasakti Ashram (where Mahatma Gandhi stayed and called it the Switzerland of India), Laxmi Ashram, and the Kausani Tea Estate with tea tasting. Afternoon visit to the ancient Baijnath Temple with sacred mahashir fish in the river.
Day 5: Kausani to Nainital via Lake Circuit
Breakfast and checkout. Early morning: enjoy the final Himalayan sunrise. Drive to Nainital (170 km / 5 hrs) with stops at the beautiful lake circuit — Bhimtal Lake, Sattal (seven interconnected lakes), and Naukuchiatal (nine-cornered lake). Arrive Nainital, check into hotel. Afternoon: ropeway ride to Snow View Point for panoramic Himalayan views. Evening shopping on Mall Road for souvenirs.
Day 6: Nainital to Delhi
Breakfast and checkout. Morning drive back to Delhi (320 km / 8 hrs) through scenic Kumaon hills. Drop at Delhi airport or railway station. Tour concludes with beautiful memories of Uttarakhand's diverse Kumaon region.
